Raspberry is a deciduous shrub of the rose family. It has a perennial rhizome, from which erect biennial stems develop, reaching a height of 2 m. The leaves are oval, petiolate, compound, with 3–7 ovate leaflets, dark green above, whitish below, pubescent with small hairs. The flowers are white, medium-sized, collected in small inflorescences at the tops of the branches. The raspberry fruit is a complex drupe with a delicate delicate aroma, usually red in color, but there are varieties of yellow and even black flowers. The taste of raspberries is very sweet.
